Media Literacy in Action: Strengthening Critical Thinking in Education

On June 19, educators and education professionals gathered in Kaunas to take part in a practical and inspiring Media Literacy Day organized within the framework of the Think Twice project. The event focused on enhancing participants’ skills in recognizing disinformation, using media literacy tools, and promoting critical thinking in the classroom.

Throughout the afternoon, participants explored a range of interactive methods and practical resources aimed at supporting teachers in navigating the challenges of today’s information landscape. From hands-on activities to collaborative discussions, the event offered valuable insights and tools that can be directly applied in everyday teaching.

Key topics included:

  • Identifying and addressing disinformation in education
  • Introducing the Think Twice media literacy toolkit and resources
  • Engaging students through interactive methods and games
  • Peer learning and networking through the World Café approach

The event fostered a strong sense of collaboration and encouraged participants to exchange ideas, reflect on their teaching practices, and build a more media-literate learning environment for their students.

This initiative is part of the broader efforts of the Think Twice project to equip teachers across Europe with the knowledge and tools needed to empower learners in the digital age.
