Math Anxiety Is Real – But So Is the Solution!

For many children, math is more than just a subject—it’s a source of stress, fear, and even tears. This phenomenon, known as math anxiety, affects around 1 in 5 learners, and it can have long-lasting effects on confidence, academic success, and even career choices. But what if we told you that the solution might lie in something kids already love—robots?

That’s right. Educational research has shown that robotics-based learning can dramatically reduce anxiety and increase engagement in mathematics. By turning abstract concepts into hands-on experiences, robotics help children see, touch, and play with math—making learning less scary and a lot more fun.

Through the Erasmus+ project RbtcsInEdu, we’re working across 5 countries to equip future teachers with the tools, skills, and confidence to use robotic applications in blended learning environments. From developing a robotics-based modular curriculum to creating a smart video platform and a visually rich digital teacher guide, we aim to reshape math learning—making it more inclusive, engaging, and emotionally supportive.
