Siggiewi, Malta – 28th of May, 2025 — The GreenMove Project is excited to announce its upcoming second transnational meeting, scheduled to take place from June 10th to 13th, 2025, in the picturesque town of Siggiewi, Malta. Hosted by the Council of Siggiewi, this important event will center around the theme: “Methodology and Technologies for Sustainable Mobility and Energy Efficiency in Island and Rural Contexts.”
This gathering brings together 17 partner organizations from 16 European countries, all committed to advancing sustainable mobility, energy efficiency, and democratic values across island and rural communities. Over the course of three days, participants will engage in a variety of activities designed to foster knowledge exchange, innovation, and collaborative problem-solving.
Event Highlights Include:
- Workshops and Interactive Sessions: Attendees will participate in workshops led by leading experts to explore cutting-edge technologies and innovative methodologies that promote sustainable mobility and energy conservation within island settings. These sessions aim to facilitate practical discussions on implementing smart, environmentally friendly transportation solutions tailored to island contexts.
- Expert Presentations and Discussions: Renowned stakeholders from academia, industry, and local governance will present successful case studies and emerging trends in sustainable mobility and energy efficiency. - Cultural Visits and Island Exploration: To deepen understanding and appreciation of Malta’s unique cultural and historical heritage, participants will enjoy guided visits to some of Malta’s most iconic sites, including UNESCO World Heritage sites, historic towns, and natural landscapes. These cultural excursions will serve as a vibrant introduction to the EU’s Island communities, highlighting Malta’s rich history, diverse traditions, and innovative spirit – offering participants an immersive experience at the very best the island has to offer.
