On 27 October 2025, we organized a Google Earth workshop as part of the TRAVEL – Training Roadmaps to Access Virtual Environmental Learning project.
The workshop focused on how Google Earth can be used to create interactive Virtual Field Trips (iVFTs). Participants were introduced to the main tools and features of Google Earth and learned how to build engaging virtual learning experiences by adding locations, descriptions, images, videos, and educational tasks.
During the session, we demonstrated how teachers and trainers can use Google Earth to present environmental topics in a more visual, interactive, and accessible way. The workshop also highlighted how iVFTs can support students in exploring real-world places virtually, encouraging curiosity, observation, and active learning.
This activity contributed to the development of innovative digital learning practices within the TRAVEL project and supported educators in strengthening their skills in using virtual tools for environmental education.
We would like to thank all participants for their active involvement and interest in using digital technologies to enrich learning experiences.
