This JANUS+ project is based once again on work-linked training because they are the best crucible to identify these soft skills due to the succession of periods in training and work situation. Thus these work-linked trainings cause a further rise in maturity. Get Youth into IT

2015 - 2017

Get Youth into IT (GYIT) is an initiative funded under and administered by the EU Erasmus+ Programme. It has been well documented that Europe is currently experiencing an IT skills shortage amongst its workforce, with an estimated 900,000 IT jobs going unfilled by 2020. Both local and multinational IT companies all over the EU are struggling to recruit for roles in all areas of their operations.

A Structured Internship Programme to Aid the Professionalization of Skilled and Unemployed Young People with the Aim of Securing Employment

The aim of the project is to introduce a viable and beneficial option to young people who are job ready in terms of education and skills but remain unemployed due to a lack of opportunity to demonstrate suitability or competency for a particular role. One such option is structured supervised internships where the applied learning in the work-place is monitored and validated, skills utilised and professional development encouraged.

  • Carry out a narrative inquiry across 12 European countries, geographically representative for different parts of Europe and different labour market and economic conditions, using semi-structured interviews with Human Resource Managers, Managing Directors or business owners in the Public, Private and SME sectors in each country – Total of 36 narratives presented in a final report.

VOCA Extended - Increased accessibility to vocational training and increased attachment to the labour market for disabled people through the VOCA Europe 2 Mentor model

In VOCA and VOCA 2 projects focus was puto n the process of getting and keeping a job, and one of the project outcomes was the development and testing of a model for the training of Mentors who can assist both companies in employing a disabled individual and disabled people.
