Two Digit2Me face-to-face training sessions for mentors were successfully completed

We are pleased to share that two Digit2Me face-to-face training sessions for mentors were successfully held on 9 July 2026 and 13 July 2026. The trainings focused on the practical application of mentoring content when working with young people.

During the training sessions, participants deepened their understanding of the mentoring process, tested practical methods, discussed real-life situations related to working with young people, and explored tools that can help strengthen the independence, self-confidence and active participation of vulnerable young people, especially those living in rural areas.

First training: mentoring basics, relationship-building and communication

Date: 9 July 2026

The first training focused on mentoring basics, relationship-building and communication. Participants discussed what mentoring is, what the role of a mentor involves, and why a safe, respectful and trust-based relationship is essential when working with young people.

The training covered topics such as active listening, open-ended questions, supportive feedback, mentoring agreements, personal and professional boundaries, and the creation of a safe learning environment.

Participants also took part in practical activities, discussions and conversation simulations, which helped them better understand how to build a relationship with a young person and how to apply communication principles in real mentoring situations.

Second training: practical methods, strategic thinking and digital safety

Date: 13 July 2026

The second training focused on practical mentoring methods, strategic thinking and digital safety. Participants were introduced to methods that help structure the mentoring process, plan goals, assess opportunities and search for solutions.

During the training, the GROW model, PIES assessment, goal-planning principles, digital boundaries, data protection and safe communication in the digital environment were presented. The possibilities of using the Digit2Me MOOC tools were also discussed.

Participants worked with practical situations, analysed possible challenges and created mentoring activity plans that they could apply in their work with young people.

Practical learning approach

Both training sessions were focused on practical learning. Participants not only explored theoretical aspects of mentoring, but also actively tested methods, discussed in groups, shared experiences and looked for solutions to real-life situations.

This learning format helped participants better understand how the Digit2Me project content can be applied in practice and how mentoring methods can support young people in strengthening their social, digital and personal skills.

Thank you to the participants

We sincerely thank all participants who actively engaged in the training sessions, shared their thoughts, questions and experiences. We believe that the knowledge gained and the practical tools presented will be useful in their further work with young people.

We are pleased with the successful completion of the trainings and hope that the Digit2Me project tools will contribute to stronger, more inclusive and more supportive mentoring practices.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Digit2Me training sessions!
