The GreenMove consortium is pleased to announce its 6th and final project event, which will be held from 03–06 May 2026 in Valongo, Portugal.
Hosted by the Municipality of Valongo, the meeting will focus on the theme:
“Sustainable and Social Inclusion: Empowering Women in Mountainous Regions through Mobility and Gender Equality.”
This event will bring together approximately 80 delegates from 16 GreenMove partner countries, along with local authorities, NGOs, experts, and community representatives. Through presentations, roundtable discussions, data collection sessions, and collaborative workshops, participants will exchange knowledge and co-create practical strategies for more inclusive and sustainable mobility.
A key feature of the meeting will be the “Valongo W Model”, which will highlight how participatory mobility planning and gender equality can support integrated transport infrastructure, social inclusion, and holistic community development.
The event will also contribute to the finalization of the sixth GISLG chapter, a practical, rights-based urban mobility planning guide focused on holistic approaches and women’s empowerment. By connecting European policy with local action, the Valongo meeting marks an important step in GreenMove’s mission to promote greener, fairer, and more accessible communities across Europe.
