From June 10–13, 2025, the second GreenMove event took place in Malta, bringing together European partners and stakeholders committed to shaping a greener, more sustainable future. Hosted in the historic town of Siggiewi, the event focused on innovative approaches to sustainable mobility and energy efficiency, particularly in island and rural contexts.
Over the course of four days, participants engaged in expert presentations, interactive discussions, and cultural visits aimed at strengthening cross-border collaboration on environmental sustainability. The programme featured:
- A warm welcome from the Mayor of Siggiewi and representatives of partner regions
- Presentations on cutting-edge green technologies and strategies
- A thematic workshop exploring best practices in sustainable mobility and energy efficiency
- Field visits to key sites including Mdina, Zurrieq, the Blue Grotto, and Valletta, the European Capital of Culture
- Networking activities that fostered deeper collaboration among project partners
The event exemplified the spirit of European cooperation, civic engagement, and innovation that lies at the heart of the GreenMove project. It also reinforced the importance of shared action in addressing the climate crisis and promoting environmentally responsible development.
We extend our sincere thanks to the Siggiewi Local Council, all participants, and our project partners for making this event a success. GreenMove continues to work towards its goal of transforming sustainable futures through community-driven initiatives and European solidarity.
